A Journey from Student to Alum
Marcus' USD Journey
Think about your time as a college student nearing graduation. Think about those who supported and guided you until you got to cross the stage to collect your diploma on commencement day. What was the best advice you received from them? How did they impact your life as a student? Those are just some of the questions we asked USD senior Marcus Destin. Watch below to hear his response. 👇
Witnessing donors give back to USD made me realize that it’s bigger than just donating a couple of dollars. There’s a connection to this place that people have that inspires them to give so that other students can have the same experiences. And that was the moment I understood it and said, “Oh wow.”-Marcus D.

USD and the Vermillion community helped me find my voice and provided me with many opportunities and supported me as a student to be the best version of myself. That's why I'm giving back. I want future students to have the same opportunities and experiences that I had at USD. And as a matter of fact, I want them to have better experiences than I had at USD. -Marcus D.
