Communications Coordinator
The University of South Dakota Foundation & Alumni Association is committed to supporting the mission of the University of South Dakota by engaging alumni, building community relationships, and promoting a culture of philanthropy.
We are looking for a Communications Coordinator to help support our efforts in strengthening connections with alumni and donors.
This position will play an integral role in the overall success of the fundraising and engagement efforts and will collaborate closely with multiple teams across the organization to reach those goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Website Support
- Assist in updating & maintaining website content to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with organizational goals.
Digital Communications
- Support digital communication efforts, including email newsletters and online stories to engage with alumni and the broader community.
Email Newsletter Coordination
- Help with creation, scheduling and distribution of email newsletters. Track performance metrics to ensure effective communication.
Collaborative Teamwork
- Work closely with team members and external partners to ensure consistency across digital and traditional communications channels.
General Communication Support
- Assist in drafting internal and external communications with an editing eye, keeping clarity and accuracy top of mind.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to produce clear, engaging content.
- Basic understanding of digital communication tools and platforms (email, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
Salary Range: $40,000 to 45,000
