7 p.m. Homecoming Coronation sponsored by the Student Activities Office in the Muenster University Center ballroom.
Wednesday, September 29
Tom Brokaw will make an address titled “Uncle Sam Needs Us” as part of USD’s celebration of the life and 100th anniversary of the birth of Dr. William O. “Doc” Farber, long-time professor and chair of the USD Department of Political Science. This event will be held at 7 p.m. in the ballroom at the Muenster University Center. Priority seating will be given to USD students. South Dakota Public Broadcasting may record the event. Additionally, the Honorable James Leach, chariman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, will present a public address, "Civility in a Fractured Society," at 4 p.m. in the Al Neuharth Media Center. Mr. Leach's comments will be preceded by an introduction by USD President James W. Abbott.

The annual presentation of the Al Neuharth Award for Excellence in the Media sponsored by the Freedom Forum 7 p.m. in the Wayne S. Knutson Theatre of the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts.

1 p.m. Naming of the South Dakota Public Broadcasting Studio
An event at the SDPB studio from 1-3 p.m. will celebrate its renaming in honor of Martin Busch, longtime SDPB executive director. Speakers will include USD President James W. Abbott, Ted Muenster, Dr. Tom Kilian and Julie Andersen, SDPB's current executive director.
